Our Mission
"At TerraNova Engineering Lab, our mission is to ignite the next generation of innovators. We bridge the gap between theory and application, using hands-on projects and advanced flight simulation to transform complex principles of physics and aerospace into tangible, exciting challenges. We empower students to build, fail, and solve their way to success, fostering the curiosity and resilience of future engineers and explorers."
A Lab, Not a Lecture
We champion an inquiry-based model where failure is not a setback but a critical data point. Our students are active engineers, building intellectual resilience through the iterative design process.
Applied Methodology
We connect foundational principles to the frontiers of discovery. Students apply orbital mechanics and physical equations to solve the same questions that drive modern aerospace frontiers.
Human-AI Collaboration
In partnership with Gemini (Google AI), we showcase a proof-of-concept for collaborative design. This methodology democratizes advanced coding and simulation for students of all skill levels.
Verified Research Domains
Atmospheric & Space Science
Predicting thermal transitions from the Troposphere to the Stratosphere and visualizing star life cycles on the Hertzsprung-Russell (H-R) Diagram.
Geospheric Dynamics
Analyzing convergent plate boundaries and the geophysics of deep ocean trenches formed via Subduction Zones.
About the Founder
TerraNova Engineering Lab was founded by Paula Cavalcanti, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and Air Force Reserves with a Master's in Applied Computer Science. Her vision combines military-grade discipline with a passion for mentorship, born from coaching the Milford High School Engineering Club to state-level success. Paula is currently developing real-time formal verification systems as part of her transition toward a PhD in Computer Science.
